the second times I joined as staff, this program has an international scale. because we increasing the scale, it make us have to cooperate with another organization like Greeneration and AIESEC. our activity still same, to protect the environment. but we think about another concept. the environment cant be protect just by small group, it needs more people to realize that how important environment to us. So, we will do this event at a place where there are many people and make them realize what happen around them.
working together with AIESEC and we can invite some foreigner or International student that study at Bandung, Indonesia. there is 9 foreigner from many country such as China, Malaysia, Mesir, Swiss, Somalia. we split them to small group to working together with some student from parahyangan university. We do this event at Thousand Island or Kepulauan Seribu at Indonesia
this place is called thousand island because they have many small island such as water island, payung island, tiger island, pari island, pramuka island and of the biggest and famous island is Tidung island. because we have to much island there, we just choose 3 island : Tidung, Pramuka and Payung Island.
the first day before we go to that island from bandung, we gathering all participant and briefing them for the event. as staff we all using batik, a traditional fabric from Indonesia
we leave at 02.00 morning from bandung using a bus, going to harbour at jakarta, and arrive at morning around 5' clock. we will going to Pramuka Island at first using a boat. The Pramuka island famous by Mangrove plant growing around that island, and they also have turtle conservation. because of that, we buy 500 mangrove seed and plant it there. it such an interesting way to plant the mangrove, because you can't plant it to deep, and have a right gap between a seed.
after plant all of the seed, we going to see turtle conservation that have many baby turtle and also some big turtle. the baby turtle so cute, they separate it into some big container. unfortunately some of the baby turtle is died at container..
After few hour and finish our lunch (we eat fish as lunch), we continue our journey to small islad, more small than pramuka island. we going to Payung island by boat. this island really unique and beauty, it just have a few people there, and we doing some games and collecting all the rubbish there.
the island has a shallow water and the color of the water is turquoise
we just have two hour in this island and then we going again to tidung island, this is our last island. we sleep here one night, the hotel there is nice, one room for 15 people. and in front of this hotel, there is a shallow water, at morning some fisherman will come to get a fish. the famous spot at tidung island is "Love Bridge" it connect tidung island with another island that i forget the named. you can snorkeling here, because the coral is very beautiful and also it has a clear sea.
this is the view in front of our hotel at sunset and at sunrise, you can go to the water at sunrise because it shallow but not at sunset, you can sea the small fish clearly, some of fisherman even can get seahorse
Finally this event is finished at Tidung island after all the group present some ideas for environement. we take some photos together with society and people that live at that island. it such an amazing experience, we making friends, making an idea, also we give a positive contribution to environment and learning about some knowledge from foreigner. yeay this event just 3 days but memory last forever.
finally I just wanna say thank you, the first thank you for the leader of Parahyangan Green Challenge named Carlos Roberto Morgen. He is a good leader, and he give the best he can at this program. thank you for accepting me as your staff, and thanks for trusting me. you really give me a good experience and memories. also I wanna thanks to all staff and participant. we do a great job. love you all..
